Terms of Service
DRAFT — pending legal review
Last updated: 28 July 2026
These terms cover your use of Hivee. We have written them in plain English. If anything is unclear, email us at [SUPPORT EMAIL, founder to supply] before you sign up.
These terms are intended to comply with the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). Nothing in them removes or limits any right or guarantee you have under the ACL that cannot lawfully be removed or limited.
1. What Hivee is
Hivee is software that helps sole traders run their back office. It drafts quotes, invoices, customer replies, and payment follow-ups for your business. Hivee is a drafting and admin tool. It works like a capable assistant that prepares the paperwork, and you stay in charge.
The approval rule. You approve every quote, every invoice, and every message before it is sent. Nothing that involves money or a commitment to a customer goes out without your approval. Hivee never changes an amount, a due date, or a payment detail on its own.
2. What Hivee is not
- Hivee does not send anything to your customers without your approval.
- Hivee is not an accounting, legal, or tax advice service. It prepares documents for your approval. You are responsible for the final content of what you send, including prices, tax treatment, and your own legal obligations to your customers.
- Hivee does not guarantee you will win work, get bookings, or get paid. It handles the admin around your work. The work itself, and your customer relationships, remain yours.
3. The free trial
Every plan starts with the same trial:
- 14 days, free.
- Full access to everything in the Pro plan during the trial.
- No credit card required to start. We do not collect any payment details during the trial.
- On day 15, access pauses until you choose a plan. Because we never took your card, there is nothing to cancel and nothing can be charged automatically.
- There is no permanent free tier.
4. Plans and pricing
All prices are in Australian dollars and include GST. What you see is what you pay. There are no setup fees.
| Plan | Monthly billing | Annual billing |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | $79 per month | Not available. Monthly billing only. |
| Solo | $149 per month | $119 per month, billed annually ($1,428 per year, GST included) |
| Pro | $249 per month | $199 per month, billed annually ($2,388 per year, GST included) |
| Scale | $449 per month | $369 per month, billed annually ($4,428 per year, GST included) |
Job volumes. Each plan is designed around a typical volume of work, shown on the pricing page. These are designed capacities, not hard caps. There is no job-count ceiling on any plan, and we do not cut you off mid-month for going over a guideline.
Annual billing. When a plan is billed annually, you pay the full year up front at the discounted rate. The total annual amount is shown above and at checkout before you pay.
Changes to pricing. If we change our prices, we will give you at least 30 days notice before the new price applies to your subscription.
5. Billing and payment
- Subscriptions are billed in advance, monthly or annually depending on what you choose.
- You can manage your subscription yourself in the app. There is no need to call or email anyone to change or cancel.
- If a payment fails, we will let you know and give you a reasonable chance to fix it before access is affected.
6. Cancelling
- You can cancel anytime, yourself, in the app. There is no lock-in contract and no notice period.
- If you are on monthly billing, your plan stays active until the end of the billing month you have paid for, then stops. You are not charged again.
- If you are on annual billing, your plan stays active until the end of the paid year. [FOUNDER TO CONFIRM: annual refund policy. Recommended position: pro-rata refund of unused full months on request, which is the fair and ACL-safe posture.]
- After cancellation you can still access copies of your documents for a reasonable period so nothing you need for your records disappears overnight.
7. Your responsibilities
- You are responsible for reviewing and approving everything Hivee drafts before it goes out. Once you approve a quote, invoice, or message, it is your business document, sent under your business name.
- You are responsible for your own tax registration and reporting obligations, including whether you need to register for GST.
- You must use Hivee lawfully and must not use it to send misleading, unlawful, or abusive content to your customers.
- You must keep your account credentials secure and tell us promptly if you think your account has been accessed without your permission.
8. Our responsibilities
- We will provide the service with due care and skill.
- We will keep the service available and reliable, but we do not promise uninterrupted access. Maintenance and occasional outages happen, and we will work to keep them short and rare.
- We will handle your information as described in our Privacy Policy.
9. Consumer guarantees and liability
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies the consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law. If you are a consumer under the ACL, you are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure, and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. If the failure is not major, you are entitled to have the failure fixed within a reasonable time.
Where the law allows us to limit our liability for a breach of a consumer guarantee, our liability is limited to supplying the service again or paying the cost of having the service supplied again.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for:
- loss caused by content you approved and sent, including errors in quotes or invoices that were visible to you at approval,
- loss of profits, revenue, or bookings arising from use of the service, or
- anything outside our reasonable control.
Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for the consumer guarantees above.
10. Your data and documents
- Your business data and documents remain yours. We do not claim ownership of your quotes, invoices, customer details, or messages.
- You can export your data. If you cancel, you can take your records with you.
11. Fair use
Each plan is for one business. Please do not resell access or run multiple unrelated businesses through one account. If your needs outgrow a plan, moving up a tier is self-serve.
12. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will publish the new version on this page, update the date at the top, and give you at least 30 days notice of any change that affects your pricing or your rights. If you do not accept a change, you can cancel under section 6.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [STATE OR TERRITORY, founder to confirm], Australia. Any dispute will be handled in the courts of that state or territory.
